About this Research Topic
The present Research Topic aims to provide innovative and substantial information on inflammatory disorders of the oral mucosa. New insights in the setting of pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of inflammatory oral morbid conditions can be given through the presentation of original data and/or literature review. The most recent advances in the clinical management of non-neoplastic oral diseases, including non-invasive imaging techniques and cell-based therapies, represent a crucial field of research in the immunological, dermatological, and dental settings.
The scope of this Research Topic is to give an overview of ongoing research on oral inflammatory disorders. In particular, we would like contributors to address the following themes: dental stem cells, autoimmune bullous disorders, oral lichen, genodermatoses, connective tissue disorders, and wound healing.
We accept many different article types including original research articles, reviews, perspective articles, opinions, and commentaries.
Keywords: inflammation, oral mucosa, dental MSC, connective tissue disorders, genodermatoses, autoimmunity, imaging, microscopy
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
