About this Research Topic
Led by Field Chief Editor, Prof. Dietmar W. Hutmacher, Frontiers in Biomaterials Science serves as a Gold Open Access multidisciplinary journal, aiming to disseminate high-quality research covering the entire fields of biomaterials science and biomaterials technology.
The goal of this Research Topic is to reflect on the past year, showcase ongoing cutting-edge research and novel developments, and to discover new insights and outlook on the future of the field as a whole.
Authors are encouraged to consider the greatest challenges in their respective sub-disciplines, and how to address those challenges within:
• Bio-interactions and Biocompatibility
• Bioinspired and Complex Materials
• Biomaterials Manufacturing and Technology
• Biomaterials Science for Regenerative Therapies
• Delivery Systems and Controlled Release
• Imaging and Diagnostics
All article types are welcomed as part of this Research Topic. Reviews, Mini Reviews, and Perspectives are particularly encouraged.
