About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to spread knowledge on new technologies and techniques that may improve dairy and buffaloes farm profitability through efficient and green input use with particular attention to economic, welfare and nutritional aspects of the production.
Specific themes that are invited to this Research Topic include but are mainly:
- management and feeding practices that improve feed efficiency and/or reduce pollution
- development of reliable instruments or techniques for feed and feeding system control
- systems to monitor health and welfare of dairy cows and buffalo
- economic and cost-effectiveness of Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) to improve the farm efficiency
- novel phenotypes to be used as indicators for management and breeding purpose
