About this Research Topic
The aim of this Research Topic is to provide a scholarly forum for cutting-edge research that addresses epilepsy mortality, cardiovascular comorbidities, and interventions to reduce the risk of cardiovascular and preventable death in people with epilepsy.
For this Research Topic we welcome submissions of any types of manuscripts supported by Frontiers in Neurology (e.g. general commentary; brief research report; mini reviews, etc.), pertaining but not limited to, the following topics:
- Epilepsy Epidemiology
- Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and prevention
- Cardiovascular risk factors in epilepsy, including hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and obesity
- Cardiovascular risk reduction in people with epilepsy
- Cardiovascular risks of anti-seizure medications
- Diet and exercise interventions to reduce cardiovascular risk
- Role of neurologists in reducing cardiovascular risk
