Epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, vaccines and treatment of viral mosquito-borne diseases

Mosquito-borne diseases affect almost 700 million people each year and result in the deaths of more than 1 million people annually. These pathogens include the viruses that cause dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis, Zika virus disease, and chikungunya fever, etc, which place a heavy burden on human communities. So far, there is no specific treatment for viral mosquito-borne diseases, and it is important to investigate the epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis and vaccines of viral mosquito-borne diseases.
This research topic focuses on the rapidly advancing area of mosquito-borne viruses, such as dengue virus, Japanese encephalitis virus, Zika virus, chikungunya virus, and other arboviruses. We aim to investigate the new findings of the epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis and vaccines of viral mosquito-borne diseases. With an appropriately assembled collection, we hope to understand mosquito-borne infectious diseases furtherly and lay a foundation for the treatment of viral mosquito-borne diseases.
All types of articles (Original Research Articles, Reviews, Mini-Reviews, Perspectives, and Brief Research Reports) that discuss the latest developments in epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, vaccines and treatment of viral mosquito-borne diseases are welcome. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
1. Different pathogenic mechanisms of mosquito-borne viruses in mosquitoes and humans.
2. New methods in mosquito-borne viruses detection.
3. New therapeutic methods for mosquito-borne diseases and the mechanisms
4. Animal models of mosquito-borne virus infection.
5. Vaccines against mosquito-borne viruses.
