Since the middle of the last century, rapid population growth and urbanization have led to the encroachment of a large number of natural spaces, resulting in a series of ecological security issues such as environmental pollution, resource depletion and habitat destruction, which have severely challenged global sustainable development. Urban ecological security is an important barrier to urban residents' production and life, the foundation and core of national or regional ecological security, and it is of great significance to promote green development and harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. With global warming, frequent natural disasters and other multifactorial threats, the issue of ecological security in cities as centers of the settlement have become a focus of international attention. However, cities are complex systems with social, economic and natural conditions coupled with each other. Under the overlapping of many factors, the basic problems such as the mechanism of urban development on ecological security have not been fully explained, and there is also a lack of quantitative assessment methods corresponding to urban ecological conditions, let alone simulation and prediction.

In recent years, according to the international advanced experience, a "resilient city" has been put forward as a new direction to deal with urban ecological security. Among them, urban ecological resilience focuses on the ability of the ecosystem to adapt, transform and restore after internal and external disturbances, and has become one of the important dimensions to maintain urban ecological security. With world urbanization entering a new stage, the improvement of ecological resilience is closely related to high-quality development goals and ecological security requirements. Although the research value and importance of ecological resilience have been widely recognized, at present, its concept definition, measurement theory analysis and measurement method optimization are quite inadequate. Constructing the measurement framework of urban ecological resilience will further deepen the discussion of ways and measures to realize urban ecological security.

We aims to explore the evaluation, factor analysis, prediction and early warning of urban ecological security from the perspective of the needs of sustainable urban development, focusing on the measurement framework of urban ecological resilience and searching for the logic of urban ecological security optimization, so as to provide new ideas and methods for enhancing the ecological environment of cities and promote their high-quality development. We will bring together relevant original research to build an academic sharing platform, and encourage rigorous analysis and discourse.
