About this Research Topic
It is not surprising that estrogen is also implicated in the development or progression of numerous diseases, which include but are not limited to various types of cancer, osteoporosis, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance, endometriosis, and obesity. ERs have recently been of high interest as prospective therapeutic target and different ERs targeting drugs are currently being considered for prevention and treatment of these diseases.
In this Research Topic, we welcome Original Research, Reviews, Mini-Reviews, Opinion and Perspective articles including, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Molecular mechanisms of ERs action in endocrine disorders;
- ERs as drug target for endocrine disorders;
- Endocrine tissues regulation by ERs;
- ERs molecular mechanisms in health and disease;
- Estrogen-ERs interaction and effect in health and disease.
Keywords: estrogen receptors, endocrine disorders, drug, therapies, target
