About this Research Topic
In this Research Topic, we would like to explore the critical roles of microorganisms in terrestrial ecosystems, especially the new insights into the relations between microbes, N2O, and CH4, as well as new ways of mitigating greenhouse gases other than CO2. This Research Topic will contribute to the future control and regulation of non-CO2 greenhouse gases in different ecosystems.
We invite researchers to submit Original Research articles, Reviews, Methods, Perspectives, Mini-Reviews, and Opinions on microbial communities involved in Nitrogen cycles and Non-CO2 greenhouse gases in Terrestrial Ecosystems. Subtopics include, but are not limited to:
(1) Microbial processes and dominant species in the production and consumption of non-CO2 greenhouse gases
(2) New strategies and biotechnologies in mitigating the non-CO2 greenhouse gases
(3) Microbial and ecological responses to climate change
Keywords: Nitrous oxide, Nitrogen cycles, Microbial interactions, Nitrification, Denitrification
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
