About this Research Topic
The objectives of this Research Topic are to (i) assess the natural and anthropogenic impacts of land-use change on the soil microbiome; (ii) evaluate the impacts of specific soil management practices on the soil microbiome; (iii) explore conservation practices, and their potential in restoring soil functions, ecosystem services, and microbial diversity; and (iv) investigate these topics in all relevant land-uses.
We welcome submissions on the following topics (but are not limited to):
• Soil organic carbon dynamics and soil microbiome;
• Studies of the rhizosphere in land-use change context;
• Multiple land-use and mixed farming systems and soil microbiome;
• Soil biogeochemistry on land-use change context;
• Greenhouse gas fluxes associated with soil microbiome
Keywords: microbial ecology, rhizosphere, deforestation, soil biogeochemistry, climate change
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
