About this Research Topic
Loss of crops due to biotic and abiotic reasons, while facing global warming and continuously increasing population and decreasing agricultural area create a serious gap in demand and need for plant-based food and medicine. This topic will gather people using the omics approach to improve technology and its application in the plant to develop stress-tolerant plants.
This research topic aims to aggregate the latest trends and developments of genomics approaches and their applications in plant science. This will aid in improving the genomics approach and multi-omics approach in understanding plant physiology, stress, development, breeding, and diagnostics. This will facilitate the development of new verities to have better production to feed the enormously growing population.
We welcome submissions including, but not limited to the below:
- Using the genomic approach to study development, breeding, improvement, and diagnostics of plants using big data
- Studies related to introducing new or updating data analysis tools or strategies related to plants
- Genome-wide studies of plants
Keywords: genomics, crop genetics, breeding, diagnosis, plant physiology, stress, multi-omics, biotic, abiotic, population, global warming, agriculture, stress-tolerance, genome-wide
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
