About this Research Topic
Therefore, contributions to this Research Topic can encompass either several or a single aspect of schizophrenia-relevant biological or behavioral aspects. For example, manuscripts that explore depressive symptomology should be written in a way that demonstrates relevance to schizophrenia. It is preferred that contributions include some examination of biological mechanism. While the focus of this topic series is on preclinical models, contributions can also include clinical data as long as an integral or illuminating piece of preclinical evidence is included.
Types of studies suitable for this Research Topic may include Original Research or Review manuscripts on the following topics:
• In vitro studies examining cellular or molecular mechanisms
• Animal models exploring the neurobiology of behaviors relevant to schizophrenia
• Nonclinical models exploring biological mechanisms or treatments
• Pharmacological studies testing potential therapies
Keywords: molecular mechanism, schizophrenia, animal studies
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
