About this Research Topic
This technology is constantly changing to meet patients’ needs and physicians’ expectations, leading to the development of improved monitoring systems. However, they haven’t yet gained wide acceptance among physicians, patients and caregivers, because they lack adequate evidence for their validation and clinical utility.
The present collection aims to elucidate the existing evidence on the efficacy of remote monitoring systems in capturing parkinsonian symptoms and helping physicians in therapeutic decision making. Original research papers, clinical trials, and review papers are welcome.
Dr. Spryridon is one of the inventors of a monitoring system for PD, the PDMonitor, and the founder of PDNeurotechnology Ltd., the manufacturer of the PDMonitor.
Dr. Tsamis has received salaries from PDNeurotechnology LTD to develop new features and clinical studies for the PDMonitor.
