About this Research Topic
increasing awareness for self-care in patients, the use of plant-based supplements, rich in bioactive compounds is growing in popularity all over the world. However, the benefits of plant-based supplementation on
cardiovascular and metabolic health still need more clinical evidence and a definite mechanism of action. This research topic aims to solicit original research, reviews and meta-analysis manuscripts that focus on various plant-based supplements with significant beneficial effects on cardiovascular and metabolic health in both preclinical and clinical phases. These include but not limited to:
- The effects of plant-based supplements on blood pressure, arterial stiffness, atherosclerosis, diabetes, obesity, and dyslipidemia.
The information in this Research Topic will provide a theoretical basis for developing plant-based supplements to improve cardiovascular and
metabolic health.
