About this Research Topic
In this Research Topic, we aim to collect research work that will stimulate further research activities and improve our understanding of the key scientific and technological problems in electrochemical energy devices.
We cordially invite researchers to contribute Original Research, Review, Mini-Review and Perspective articles. We are particularly interested in articles describing advanced technologies for electrochemical energy devices (fuel cells, Li/Na/K/Zn/Mg ion batteries, metal-air batteries, and so on). Potential themes include, but not limited to:
• Advanced technologies for Li/Na/K/Zn/Mg-ion batteries.
• Surface-defect-rich nanostructured electrode materials for enhanced oxygen reduction and evolution in metal-air batteries and fuel cells.
• High-conductivity and stable electrolytes (liquid or solid state) for rechargeable batteries.
• Theoretical and experimental study on fuel cells, such as solid oxide fuel cells, protonic ceramic fuel cells, proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) and so on.
• 3D microstructure reconstruction and multiphysics coupling analyzing technologies for porous electrodes.
• 3D large scale simulating technologies and structure designing technology for various fuel cell stack.
Keywords: Energy Devices, Metal Ion Batteries, Metal-Air Batteries, Fuel Cells
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
