Sustainable development can be defined as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainability goals address several global challenges, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. For this reason, circular economy is a potential frame for natural resource development leading to social cohesion, economic competitiveness and stability, use of resources and economic development, and safeguarding biodiversity and the ecosystem.
A significant role in overcoming the environmental consequences of a linear economy associated with inefficient resource management and increased pollution is played by the circular economy; therefore it is important to ensure its functioning and development according to the principles of inclusive development and an appropriate business model for sustainable production.
The aim of this Research Topic therefore is to present innovative solutions of the Circular Economy Business Model in the linkages between of social, environmental, and economic aspects for sustainable production. We will specifically target recent developments in terms of Circular Economy Business Model management tools to move from linear production and consumption systems to sustainable, zero-waste production processes. We welcome work covering all research areas, from fundamentals aspects of indentation to industrial applications, including, but not limited to:
1. Sustainable natural resources management as related to business models
2. Circular economy and eco-innovation
3. Environmental strategies to enhance business performance and sustainability
4. Business and management aspects of sustainability
5. Sustainable production and Human Resources management
