About this Research Topic
As a vital development aspect of Space Information Networks (SIN), Space-Aerial-Terrestrial (SAT) networks are designed to provide roaming services for users or devices in various scenarios, including land, aerial and marine areas. Simultaneously, SAT networks are expected to be one of the vital supports for intelligent transportation systems, global environment surveillance and space information networks. However, SAT networks are confronting enormous challenges caused by various peculiar space physical characteristics and technology gaps, such as dynamic space topology networks, compatibility with terrestrial 5G/6G technologies, service integration involving communication, navigation and remote sensing, and the requirements of lower cost and green communications.
This Research Topic focuses on the novel architectures, sustainable integration models, advanced signal processing, and performance optimization for SAT networks, including, but not limited to, the following topics:
