About this Research Topic
The first goal of this Research Topic is to deepen the understanding of the internal and external factors influencing mobile phone addiction. Uncovering the unique and interactive effects of individual and environmental factors on mobile phone addiction will greatly help understand the occurrence and development of mobile phone addiction. The second goal of this Research Topic is to explore the effectiveness of cognitive or behavioral interventions on mobile phone addiction. Appropriate training programs will contribute to the prevention and intervention of mobile phone addiction.
In this Research Topic, we would like to seek articles that enhance our understanding of the influencing factors and intervention strategies of mobile phone addiction. We are interested in articles that use a range of research methodologies to generate review-based, qualitative, correlational, and empirical findings on different types of mobile phone addiction. The Research Topic will cover, but is not limited to the following sub-topics:
- Reliability and validity of measures assessing mobile phone addiction.
- Comparisons of different types of mobile phone addiction
- Effects of personality traits on mobile phone addiction and the underlying mechanisms
- Effects of environmental factors on mobile phone addiction and the underlying mechanisms
- Interactions of environmental factors and individual traits or genes on mobile phone addiction
- Immediate and long-term effects of intervention programs on mobile phone addiction
