About this Research Topic
Radiotherapy and chemotherapy are rarely used in early lung cancer. Therefore, lymph node dissection is an important supplement to sublobular lobectomy there. However, there is no clear conclusion on the strategy of intraoperative lymph node dissection.
At present, there have been many clinical trials studying the strategies of lymph node dissection in early lung cancer, but due to many factors (such as the size, shape, composition and location of lung cancer lesions), there is still no systematic theory explaining how to treat specific patients who are undergoing targeted intraoperative lymph node dissection. It is necessary to form a team of experts around the world to conduct independent research and discussion, to reach an expert consensus to guide the strategy of lymph node dissection during sublobar lobectomy for early lung cancer.
With this Research Topic, we aim to:
1. clarify the general rules and special mutations of lymph node metastasis of early lung cancer,
2. accurately classify and analyze early lung cancer according to the characteristics of the lesion, and comprehensively summarize the strategy and scope of lymph node dissection during sublobular resection, and
3. identify the most reasonable lymph node dissection strategy for different groups.
We welcome submissions of Case Report, Clinical Trial, Mini Review, Review, Systematic Review, and Original Research on the sub-themes below:
• How to choose suitable early lung cancer patients for sublobar lobectomy, and how to choose segmentectomy or wedge resection.
• The regularity and special variation of lymph node metastasis.
• According to the characteristics of the lesion (such as the size, shape, composition and location of lung cancer lesions), explain the scope and strategy of intraoperative lymph node dissection.
• Difficulties and solutions of intraoperative lymph node dissection.
• Different sublobar lobectomy methods, similarities and differences of lymph node dissection methods, and prognosis.
• Comprehensively explain the lymph node dissection strategy during sublobar lobectomy.
