Interventional pain management has emerged to become an effective therapy or part of a multimodal therapy for patients with chronic pain. These include epidural steroid injections, facet joint denervation, disc decompression and annuloplasty for patients with chronic spinal pain. Neuromodulation through spinal cord or peripheral nerve stimulation is also an established treatment modality for neuropathic pain conditions including radiculopathy, complex regional pain syndrome and peripheral neuropathic pain. Moreover, cancer pain - especially intractable cancer pain - may also benefit from sympathetic neurolysis and intrathecal drug delivery.
With the extensive use of both fluoroscopic and ultrasound imaging to better visualise anatomical targets, the use of interventional techniques has grown exponentially in the last few years.
We welcome submissions related to interventional techniques for pain, including but not limited to randomized trials, observational studies, reviews as well as opinion articles.
