About this Research Topic
One way to explore the occurrence of oral diseases and their impact on human beings is to consider different life cycles. This collection will focus on epidemiology of dental caries and periodontal diseases from children to geriatrics.
We invite authors to submit original research articles or review articles regarding the lessons learned from oral epidemiology in terms of the risk factors for these diseases through development, as well as exploration of risk factors not yet known. As chronic diseases, it is important to consider the impact of caries and periodontal diseases:
- On quality of life and in other systemic diseases.
- Preventative measures to avoid oral diseases
- Early treatment and steps that can be taken to decrease the likelihood of other chronic diseases.
- Biological risk factors, behavioral interventions, social disparities.
All these measures testify to the burden of oral diseases and it is therefore important to have a multidisciplinary approach to article submissions.
Keywords: dental caries, periodontal disease, chronic diseases, non-communicable, quality of life
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
