About this Research Topic
The role of peri and post-natal environmental conditions on the incidence and severity of NDDs has not been fully understood and might be key to the deployment of more efficacious therapies combining pharmacological and environmental interventions.
This Research Topic will welcome contribution focusing on the elucidation of the molecular mechanisms underlying peripheral and central responsivity to environmental cues and adversities involved in NDDs.
Themes of interest include but are not limited to:
• Dissect specific effects of environmental conditions that modify the association between the genetic background NDDs.
• Identify and elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which these Gene x Environment interactions exert their effect in NDDS.
• Propose novel pharmacological, environmental or combined strategies to provide effective and efficacious treatments.
