About this Research Topic
Annual congresses have been organized since 2011 with over 250 delegates participating to the last two events in Poland and Italy. In 2019, the Executive Board instituted a Scientific Committee and proposed to support the publication of the most relevant and highly-qualitative papers presented to the annual congress in Frontiers in Pediatrics. Based on the aims of the Society, laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, retroperitoneoscopy, endourology, endoscopy and robotics represent the hot topics faced by most authors.
The aim of this Research Topic is to collect good-quality papers in the field of minimally invasive surgery, as those presented at the annual congress in Vicenza in September 2019 that received high priority scores. All in all, the final aim of this issue is to stimulate basic research, innovation and clinical studies across Europe in order to improve the overall quality and to maintain the high standards of pediatric endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery.
