About this Research Topic
The advent of effective sequencing approaches has enabled immense progress in our understanding of chromatin biology in recent years. However, the deployment of complementary approaches to integrate the dynamic interplays shaping the chromatin environment remains to be achieved. Here we wish to highlight innovative approaches employed by researchers to uncover novel biological insights in chromatin structure and function as well as transcriptional regulation in both healthy and diseased states.
In this Research Topic, we aim to gather articles employing quantitative approaches to uncover novel insights into chromatin biology by focusing on emerging proteomics, genomics, biochemical and imaging techniques. Original research manuscript, brief reports, mini-reviews and reviews will be welcomed. Some of the potential topics include:
• Quantification of the contribution of histone protein modifications to chromatin biology and transcriptional regulation.
• Methods to investigate the physical interplay between chromatin and transcription.
• Phase separation and its impact on chromatin biology.
• Technical considerations for the study of chromatin structure and function regulation in health and disease states.
• Emerging tools to alter the chromatin structure and function.
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
