About this Research Topic
While a significant body of knowledge exists in the STEM education literature, what seems to be lacking are perspectives from researchers on how they view the future of STEM Education. A multi-faceted view of how the trajectory of STEM Education is likely to take shape in the future would be of interest. Practicing researchers would be in the best position to reflect on this from the lens of their experience. Hence, this Research Topic within Frontiers in Education will be different from conventional approaches in publishing special issues.
The present Research Topic seeks to bring together STEM education researchers on how they view the future of STEM Education. Contributions to this collection of peer-reviewed articles will be sourced through an official Call for Papers allowing also spontaneous submissions from this web-page.
Sub-Areas for this Research Topic may include but are not limited to any of the following:

• School-based initiatives on STEM education

Though not necessary, empirical studies are welcome but these have to be positioned within the larger perspective of the author’s own views on the future of STEM Education in support of the views advanced but should be subservient to the thrust of the article.
