About this Research Topic
One of the main treatments for CLD is liver transplantation, but the number livers available for transplant is decreasing as the number of people awaiting a transplant is increasing. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance to identify new therapeutic targets for the treatment of CLD.
Details for Authors: The scope of this Research Topic is to identify new mechanisms and targets that may be therapeutics for the treatment of CLD and the various pathologies it encompasses. Papers can be more detailed and focus on a specific liver disorder or pathway, and/or be more broad to encompass multiple diseases or the targeting of an overarching process seen in liver diseases, such as mechanisms of inflammation or fibrosis. We are interested in multiple article types, ranging from original manuscripts to reviews. Overall, we would like to develop a broad research topic that can help identify new therapeutic targets for the treatment of CLD in order to aid in the progression of hepatology research and medical care.
Keywords: Hepatology, Chronic Liver Disease, Therapeutics, Inflammation, Fibrosis
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
