Multisensory Integration: Testing Children With Autism

Multisensory Integration: Testing Children With Autism

John Foxe, Ph.D. shows how his lab measures multisensory integration in high-functioning children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).  He found that younger children with ASD have trouble integrating the auditory and visual cues while listening to speech, but that the problem clears up in adolescence.

Dr. Foxe is director of research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine's Children's Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center and professor of pediatrics and of neuroscience.
