About this Research Topic
We invite researchers to contribute Original Research, Review or Mini-Review articles on the characterization methods which are applied to the study of the properties of emerging lignocellulosic materials. The materials should be based on nano- and micro-scaled or macroscopic cellulose fibers, alone or in combination with other components (e.g. lignin. hemicellulose, other synthetic or natural polymers and inorganic materials). Examples of properties of interest are, in particular, physical and chemical properties of surfaces, interfacial interactions and colloidal stability, but typically also transport of liquids and gases, diffusion, porosity/density, network structure, percolation and strength.
In this Research Topic, all articles will be subject to timely peer review and published open access for a fee of $1150 USD for Original Research and Reviews, and $525 USD for Mini-Reviews. If you need support with the fee please contact the editorial team who will invite you to apply to their fee support program.
Keywords: Cellulosic Materials, Microparticles, Nanoparticles, Surface Properties, Interfacial Interactions, Engineered Material
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
