About this Research Topic
Carbon catalysts have demonstrated promising features for catalysis including oxidation, hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, ORR, OER, CO2 reduction, and so on. However, in spite of the mountainous studies dealing with carbon catalysis, many questions remain exist and the community of carbon catalysis remains alive. Herein, scientists are attracted to keep working on it to discover the beautiful secrets behind carbon catalysts. One of the main challenge is identification of carbon materials. Without characterize carbon materials in detail, it seems rather difficult to discuss their performance and this might be a reason for various consistent/inconsistent proposals on this topic.
The aim of this Research Topic is to introduce the latest development of catalysis by carbon (homogeneous, heterogeneous, electrocatalytic or photocatalytic), and the impact of carbon-based catalysts for the development of greener and more sustainable chemical technologies. Moreover, novel mechanistic insights into the carbon catalysis have also be involved and presented to design carbon catalysts with high catalytic performance.
