This Research Topic aims to collect examples of the most exciting and recent developments in the area of Neuroscience. We particularly encourage the submission of basic research reports, papers on translational studies in disease and thoughtful reviews. However, other articles types, for instance, papers describing significant methodological advances or providing thought-provoking novel concepts and theories, will also be considered. Submissions are encouraged from across all research areas represented within the ANS membership and only the conference attendees are entitled to submit a contribution to this collection. Suggested research themes are as follows:

· Neural Excitability, Synapses, and Glia
· Neurodegenerative Disorders and Injury
· Sensory systems
· Motor systems
· Integrative Physiology and Behaviour
· Neuroimaging and brain mapping
· New techniques in neuroscience
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
