About this Research Topic
In recent times, one of the most powerful and extensively used methods for synthesizing such structures has relied on electrochemical synthesis. It is a facile method used to synthesize a variety of nanoengineered materials including metals, alloys, metal oxides, semiconductors, conducting polymers and their composites. In addition to nano-architectures, various nanocrystalline materials with superior properties--including high mechanical strength and high electrical conductivity--can also be electrodeposited. Compared to vacuum methods, electrodeposition is cost-effective and highly manufacturable with minimum maintenance.
In this Research Topic, we seek to bring together the latest developments in electrochemically synthesized nanoengineered materials and their applications in electrical, optical, and energy generation and storage devices.
