About this Research Topic
The current Research Topic aims to explore future scenarios for our oceans and coastal areas. Contributions exploring multiple pressures or multiple aspects of the same stressor are encouraged. Contributions exploring case studies comparing various ecosystems are especially sought after to illuminate responses and trends that are common across ecosystems and distinguish from those that are specific for each ecosystem.
Quantitative and qualitative modelling studies that explore future scenarios have been shown to be particularly useful, and further developments of such models, notably those including the human dimension (e.g. economic and social issues), are encouraged.
We welcome original manuscripts suitable as research articles, reviews, mini-reviews or policy and practice reviews according to Frontiers’ categories for articles (https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/marine-science#article-types).
Keywords: Trade-off, Ecosystem-based management, Multiple stressors, Future scenarios
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
