About this Research Topic
Disciplines like epidemiology, in interaction with ecology, biology, oceanography, climate and economics, are heavily needed in order to provide computational power and knowledge to support the animals, industry and competent authorities. Considering that several advancements have been made regarding empirical research, advanced modelling techniques, and the integration of different areas of sciences, we seek for this Research Topic papers on methodology and solutions that are important to support decision makers and the sound development of the aquaculture industry.
We welcome contributions to this Research Topic through the submission of articles addressing (but not limited to) the following domains:
• Study of disease epidemiology, risk factors, spatial and temporal analysis
• Evaluation of diagnostic tests
• Design and evaluation for complex surveillance
• Application of genomics and epigenetics
• Risk assessment
• On-farm biosecurity and area management
• Health and behavior economics
• Modelling and inference of disease spread, effects of control interventions
• Integrative analysis and comparative analyses of network analysis
• Big data analytics, deep learning, machine learning
• Challenge, advances, and current and innovative methods to address the impact of climate change
• Integrated farming-system ecology and management
