This Research Topic will bring together interprofessional perspectives on hypogonadism across the lifespan. A wide-range of hypogonadism-related topics will be examined from a variety of viewpoints. Growing attention to possible environmental aspects (endocrine disruptors) and early-life determinants of future fertility (minipuberty) will provide a developmental viewpoint. Insights for clinical management will draw from approaches to treatment for late-presenting cases of congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism as well as hypogonadism secondary to anabolic androgen abuse and how we might translate insights from the management of transgender patients into treatment of cis-gender clients. The contribution of nurse-led clinics and consideration of psychological aspects of hypogonadism/infertility will provide a holistic perspective on patient care. Hotly debated topics of age-related testosterone deficiency and hypogonadism secondary to obesity will be reviewed in light of their growing clinical prevalence. This collection will assemble underappreciated and sometimes overlooked aspects relating to hypogonadism filling a gap in the existing literature to provide both novel insights into the filed as well as raising important questions and identifying future direction for this area of men’s health.
