About this Research Topic
DAO technology has been rapidly developing across various blockchain platforms but is still far from mature:
- Comprehensive reviews and tutorials on DAOs are absent among the research communities;
- External tools are required for a smooth transition from traditional organizations to DAOs;
- Basic properties need for further identifications in DAOs such as security, privacy, and fairness;
- Ways of decentralized governance need to be developed;
- Methods on how to construct Decentralized Identity (DiD) and its applications in DAOs are unexplored;
- DAO smart contracts with unknown vulnerabilities and any types of attacks remain to be explored.
In this sense, we put our focus on such a fuzzy but fancy concept. Accordingly, the goal of this Research Topic is to collect techniques, methods, and approaches that address the DAO issues identified above. We sincerely invite submissions along this theme according to various disciplinary viewpoints including on the topics:
• DAO principles, standards, and categorization
• DAO-related tools, protocols and applications
• DAO modeling and analysis
• Decentralized Governance
• Decentralized Identity
• Incentive and E-voting Schemes
• Cryptography for Authentication
• Security of DAO smart contracts
This list is illustrative, not comprehensive. We also encourage submissions on other topics and along the general theme.
Keywords: DAO, Crypto Currency, Web3, DiD, Game Theory, Smart Contracts, Tokenization, Decentralized Autonomous Organisations
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
