Global health has witnessed significant advancements in recent decades; however, achieving health and well-being for all remains a major challenge. Healthy lives and well-being are multifaceted and include physical, mental, and social dimensions, each influenced by a complex interplay of factors, including socioeconomic status, environmental conditions, access to healthcare, and education. As global health threats, ranging from chronic diseases and mental health crises to infectious disease outbreaks and climate change, persist, there is an increased need to understand and innovate global health and well-being.
In November 2024, The inaugural International Conference for Public Health Students (ICPHS) was held with the theme "Advancing Healthy Lives and Wellbeing for All". The conference presentations cover the multifaceted aspects of health and wellbeing.
The primary objective of this Research Topic is to foster a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding health and well-being and to disseminate actionable insights that can inform policy, practice, and future research. By showcasing a wide range of studies, from empirical research to theoretical analyses and practical case studies, we aim to:
• Highlight the interdependence of various health determinants and the need for holistic approaches to health promotion;
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of diverse perspectives in addressing health challenges;
• Inspire innovative solutions and scalable interventions that can be adapted across different contexts and populations;
• Provide a platform for public health students to share their research and contribute to the public health community of practice;
We invite public health students, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and advocates to contribute to this critical discourse, sharing their insights and findings to advance our collective goal of ensuring healthy lives and well-being for all. We welcome papers within the scope detailed below that were not presented at the ICPHS conference for consideration in this Research Topic.
