About this Research Topic
As the largest organ, the skin's immunologic functions have garnered newfound appreciation, enabling the re-evaluation of diseases by comprehensively understanding the activation mechanisms of immunological cells. For example, this enhanced understanding has afforded accurate differentiation between various forms of pemphigus by characterizing cadherins. Beyond its signalling function, the human integument serves as a reflection of the conditions in other organs.
This issue of the prestigious journal Frontiers in Immunology aims to disseminate pivotal research that will accelerate knowledge in this domain.
We welcome original research, reviews, methods, perspectives and reports related but not limited to:
- Autoimmune disorders of the skin;
- Epidermal Cancers;
- Inflammation in Skin related Diseases.
