About this Research Topic
In addition, multidisciplinary treatment of locally advanced rectal cancer is currently expected to be based on a TNT strategy with preoperative radiotherapy and preoperative chemotherapy. Immunotherapy has also been shown to be effective in selected cases, and individualized strategies are required to maximize the safety and efficacy of multimodality treatment. The current results and issues in preoperative treatment and surgical procedure are discussed, and new treatment strategies to overcome these issues will be presented.
We would therefore like to present the challenges to be overcome in robotic surgery and the innovations for the standardization of robot-assisted colorectal surgery with new findings on minimally invasive surgery in terms of both curative and function-preserving outcomes. This project therefore aims to include recent advances in this field, including current complications and how to overcome these.
