About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms and treatment approaches for hepatobiliary tumors. It will focus on recent advancements in molecular biology, genomics, and targeted therapy, with the objectives of discovering novel molecular targets, such as gene mutations, signaling pathways, and biomarkers for early detection and targeted therapy. Additionally, it seeks to enhance treatment outcomes by refining targeted therapies and immunotherapies to improve patient prognosis, and to enhance prognosis and monitoring through the utilization of biomarkers and imaging technologies for real-time assessment of treatment response. Ultimately, this research aims to improve the diagnostic accuracy, prognosis evaluation, and treatment efficacy of hepatobiliary tumors.
To gather further insights into the molecular targets and therapeutics for hepatobiliary tumors, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Genetic and Molecular Analysis: Identification of novel genetic mutations and molecular pathways in hepatobiliary tumors, and the role of epigenetic modifications and noncoding RNAs in tumorigenesis.
- Biomarkers: Discovery and validation of biomarkers for early detection, prognosis, and monitoring treatment response, and the development of liquid biopsy technology for real-time disease monitoring.
- Targeted Therapy: Progress in targeted therapy, including small molecule inhibitors and monoclonal antibodies, and mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies with strategies to overcome them.
- Immunotherapy: The efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors and other immunotherapy methods, and combination therapies involving immunotherapy and targeted drugs.
- Clinical Trials and Translational Research: Clinical trial results of new therapeutic drugs and combinations, and translational research linking laboratory discoveries to clinical applications.
Manuscript types include original research articles, reviews, clinical trial reports, case studies, and perspective/opinions.
