About this Research Topic
As the field of surgical education navigates through rapid technological advancements and significant demographic changes, it is imperative to develop and adopt innovative educational strategies to enhance the training of surgical trainees and professionals across various subspecialties and improve surgical patients’ management worldwide.
This collection aims to provide a comprehensive resource for all stakeholders in surgical education to catalyze the advancement of surgical training and practice, proposing educational frameworks that not only meet the immediate training needs but also prepare surgeons for future challenges in the surgical field.
We welcome a range of different article types (see list here) from educators, researchers, and practitioners around but not limited to the following themes:
• Training models and technological tools: use of digital tools such as e-learning, video-assisted surgeries, 3D imaging, augmented and virtual reality, and simulation-based training
• Skill development: basic and advanced surgical techniques, robotic surgery training
• Use of artificial intelligence in surgical training and education
• Integration of research into surgical training
• Influence of demographic challenges on educational frameworks
• Integration of multidisciplinary approaches for surgical training
