About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to explore both the recent advancements in Alzheimer's disease treatments and diagnostics, and the broader domain of non-Alzheimer’s dementias such as vascular dementia (VaD) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Specifically, it seeks to uncover more specific biomarkers and develop effective treatments that can differentiate and address the unique aspects of non-AD dementias. The research will also delve into modifiable risk factors and the possible extension of new AD therapies to other forms of dementia.
To gather further insights in the realm of dementia, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Long-term efficacy and safety of new AD therapies like lecanemab.
- Comparative studies on the progression and management of AD versus non-AD dementias.
- The role of lifestyle risk factors in the onset and progression of different forms of dementia.
- Emerging therapeutic targets and treatments for VaD and FTD.
- Discovery, development and validation of biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and risk factors (Genetic and Non-Genetic) in AD and non-AD dementia
- Pharmacological interventions for the treatment of AD and non-AD dementia
- Disease Modeling for AD and non-AD dementia.
- Personalized Medicine in AD and non-AD dementia.
