About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to create a modern repository of recent advances in theoretical modelling and experimental studies of soft materials. Contributions that explore beyond traditional rubber composites to include novel soft materials with significant potential for innovative applications, such as shape memory polymers, hydrogels, and biomaterials, are highly encouraged.
We welcome submissions addressing a broad array of contemporary topics within material science, experimental investigations, and the mechanics of soft materials.
The scope of this Research Topic includes, but is not limited to:
• Mechanics of soft materials
• Finite element methods
• Failure, fracture, and fatigue
• Advanced polymeric composites
• Thermo-mechanical modeling
• Rubber compounding
