About this Research Topic
Understanding of autoimmune disease has advanced with novel techniques that allow in-depth molecular characterization. However, major parts of the immune responses in autoimmune diseases still need to be elucidated.
With this Research Topic, we aspire to collect contributions that further our understanding of autoimmune diseases by means of molecular characterization. By this, we hope we will contribute to better outcomes for people with autoimmune diseases, especially those in whom autoimmunity results in a chronic condition.
We are interested in manuscripts dealing with molecular characterization of autoimmune diseases or phases of autoimmune diseases, linking disease endotypes with short-term and long-term outcomes. We also welcome manuscripts dealing with the use of molecular characterization to aid diagnostics as well as primary and secondary prevention.
Keywords: autoimmunity, inflammation, transcriptomics, genomics, proteomics
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
