Urological diseases such as tumors, stones, and prostatitis pose significant health challenges worldwide. The immune microenvironment plays a pivotal role in the development and progression of these disorders. Research has indicated the critical importance of immunoregulation in the pathogenesis, progression, and treatment of urological diseases. Specifically, immunoregulation may serve as an effective therapeutic strategy in cancer treatment, kidney stone inhibition, and inflammation control in prostatitis. Therefore, a comprehensive investigation of the immunoregulatory mechanisms and novel therapeutic approaches in urological diseases holds significant clinical implications.
This research topic aims to explore the immunoregulatory mechanisms involved in urological tumors, stones, and prostatitis, identify novel therapeutic targets, and propose effective treatment strategies.
We welcome Original Research articles, Review articles, Mini-Reviews, Case Reports, Clinical Trials, and Perspectives to enhance our understanding of the immunoregulatory mechanisms in urological diseases and promote the development of innovative therapies.
Submissions may focus on, but are not limited to, the following subtopics:
• The role of immunoregulation in the pathogenesis, progression, and treatment of urological tumors (e.g., bladder cancer, renal cell carcinoma, and prostate cancer)
• The role of immunoregulation in the formation, dissolution, and prevention of urolithiasis (e.g., kidney stones and ureteral stones)
• The role of immunoregulation in the etiology, inflammation control, and treatment of prostatitis - Discovery and validation of novel immunoregulatory therapeutic targets
• Combinatorial strategies of immunotherapy with other treatment modalities (e.g., pharmacotherapy, physical therapy)
• Safety, tolerability, and patient selection criteria for immunotherapies in urological diseases
Keywords:
Urological Disorders, Tumors, Immunoregulation
Important Note:
All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
