Excessive inflammation is a hallmark of inflammatory diseases. Epidemiological studies conducted over the past two decades show an increase in the prevalence of inflammatory diseases and the use of anti-inflammatory drugs. Much of the treatment of inflammatory diseases remains symptomatic. In many cases, there is lack of clarity on the underlying molecular mechanisms and specific targets involved. Therefore, there is a need to investigate molecular mechanisms and therapeutic biomarkers for inflammatory diseases.
The purpose of this Research Topic is to investigate molecular mechanisms, therapeutic biomarkers, and innovations in anti-inflammatory drugs for treatment of inflammatory diseases. These include osteoarthritis, tendinopathy, and inflammatory bowel disease. Articles advancing the forefront of progress in the protection against inflammatory diseases and novel viewpoints for clinical treatment are welcome.
This Research Topic welcomes the submissions of all types covering (original research articles, reviews, opinions, perspectives, systematic reviews and comments), but not limited to, the following areas:
1. Investigation on epigenetic regulation and novel therapeutic targets in inflammatory diseases
2. New insights of molecular mechanism in inflammatory diseases.
3. Bioinformatics analysis and experimental verification for inflammatory diseases.
4. Advances in precise therapy for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.
5. Intelligent pharmacogenomic analysis and laboratory validation of anti-inflammation drug discovery.
6. Clinical data analysis in inflammatory diseases.
Keywords:
Inflammatory diseases, Therapeutic targets, Molecular mechanism, Bioinformatics analysis
Important Note:
All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
