We are delighted to present the second Frontiers in Avian Physiology Research Topic "Rising Stars in Avian Physiology." The goal of this topic is to recognize future leaders in avian physiology who are a driving force in new innovations. This Research Topic will showcase the high-quality work of up-and-coming research of graduate students, postdoctoral researchers , assistant professors, and others within 10 years of their PhD or other equivalent degree. Submitted articles are open to the complete breadth of avian physiology and maybe original research, perspective, mini reviews, full reviews, or opinion papers.
