About this Research Topic
This Research Topic highlights the presentations from the 2023 and 2024 NanoBioTech Conference on the advancements in Nano-based Diagnostics for Health and Disease made by researchers in both industry and academia, in conjunction with the materials and computational research that make these technologies possible.
While the field of Nano-based Diagnostics for Health and Disease continues to evolve, challenges such as clinical translation and regulatory considerations persist. Nonetheless, the impact of nano-based diagnostics is already felt in society, with improved disease management, reduced healthcare costs, and enhanced quality of life for individuals worldwide. Exploring further advancements in nanoparticle engineering, miniaturized sensor platforms, and regulatory frameworks will propel this research toward even greater societal benefits.
This Research Topic seeks to draw attention to nanobiotechnology research at any level of technology readiness that has the goal of developing diagnostic approaches for monitoring health and disease at home or in the clinical laboratory. The research can range from technology concept development to proof of concept validation all the way to prototype presentation and validation. Innovations in education to improve capability in nano-diagnostic research and diversification of researchers in nano-theranostics are also of interest to this Research Topic.
