About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to consolidate recent findings and results of high-quality research on the safety and efficacy of cannabis derivatives in animal species. This, in turn, will serve as a basis for further discussions and investigations in this growing therapeutic area. The primary objectives include addressing specific questions about the therapeutic use of cannabinoids in animals, testing hypotheses related to their pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and evaluating the safety of chronic cannabinoid administration. By answering these questions, the research aims to fill the existing gaps and provide a more comprehensive understanding of the potential benefits and risks associated with cannabis derivatives in veterinary medicine.
To gather further insights into the use of cannabis derivatives in veterinary medicine, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Therapeutic use of cannabinoids in animals
- Pharmacokinetic investigations of cannabis derivatives
- In vivo / in vitro pharmacodynamic studies of molecules associated with cannabis
- Cannabis-related intoxications of animals
- Safety of chronic cannabinoid administration in animals
Keywords: Cannabinoids, cannabidiol, dog, cat, horse, epilepsy, osteoarthritis, pain
