About this Research Topic
The primary aim of this research topic is to shed light on the current progress and potential applications of diagnostic ultrasonography in veterinary practice. This includes exploring its use in the diagnosis and monitoring of various conditions in large, small, laboratory, wild, and domestic animals. The research will also delve into the use of novel technologies in ultrasonography, with a particular focus on their role in the early detection and prediction of cardiac diseases. This could potentially aid in the development and evaluation of timely therapeutic protocols, thereby reducing mortality rates.
The scope of this research topic is broad, encompassing a range of themes related to veterinary diagnostic ultrasonography. These include, but are not limited to:
• The use of abdominal and urogenital ultrasonography for disease diagnosis and post-surgery monitoring.
• The application of colour Doppler ultrasonography in assessing the hemodynamic functions of blood vessels and organs.
• The use of conventional cardiothoracic ultrasonography in evaluating cardiac functions in various animal species.
• The exploration of novel echocardiographic diagnostic modalities, such as Intraventricular pressure gradient (IVPG), two-dimensional speckle tracking Echocardiography (2D-STE), and vector flow mapping (VFM), in the assessment and prediction of cardiac diseases in different animals.
