The inaugural CRISPR Medicine Conference 2024, organized by CRISPR Medicine News, aims to bring European CRISPR research to the forefront, with more than 60 academic and industrial speakers tackling the most important topics in the therapeutic gene-editing field, namely tools, delivery, safety, standards and regulations, pre-clinical research, and clinical trials.
This Research Topic builds upon the scientific advances highlighted at The CRISPR Medicine Conference, by inviting scientists working within therapeutic gene editing to share their findings, opinions, and ideas with others in the field.
We encourage submissions in the form of original research, methods, reviews, mini reviews, opinions and hypothesis and theory. Suitable topics include, but are not limited to:
• CRISPR-Cas9, base editing, prime editing, RNA editing, epigenetic editing
• Improvements to the precision and efficiency of existing gene-editing modalities
• Emerging novel gene-editing modalities
• Viral and non-viral delivery methods
• Methods to assess the outcomes of gene editing
• Standards and regulations that apply to therapeutic gene editing in humans
• Ongoing clinical trials of candidate gene-editing or gene-edited therapeutics
• Clinical trials of gene-editing or gene-editing
Keywords:
CRISPR, gene editing, CRISPR medicine news, CRISPR Med conference, CRISPR trials
Important Note:
All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
