About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to celebrate and promote the contributions of women in the field of insect science. By providing a platform for women researchers, this collection seeks to highlight their diverse work across various subfields of entomology. The objective is to not only showcase advances in theory, experimentation, and methodology but also to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in insect science. Key questions include how gender diversity can enhance scientific inquiry and what unique perspectives women bring to entomological research.
To gather further insights in the representation and contributions of women in insect science, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Innovative research methodologies developed by women in entomology.
- Case studies of successful women-led projects in insect science.
- The impact of gender diversity on research outcomes in entomology.
- Strategies for promoting gender equality in STEM, specifically within entomology.
- Historical and contemporary contributions of women to the field of insect science.
- Challenges and opportunities for women pursuing careers in entomology."
Please note: to be considered for this collection, the first or last author should be a researcher who identifies as a woman.
